A mature sea dragon that protects an ancient sea cave.

This dragon's head resembles most dragons, however its scale tone is completely blue/green in color. It has small brines that cover the head and run all the way down the neck to the tail. Clams, muscles, barnacles and other shellfish stick to the scales of the dragon, much like those on ships. This dragon has no wings and instead of claws are long, powerful flippers. Steam rises from its nostrils.

Coralyntheix, or Coral, is an old female sea dragon that lives in a sea cave near the north western shore of Palanthas. The dragon is long, almost 30 feet long from snout to tail. It has a soft blue green color, with its scales on the belly being a pale white. Coralyntheix has sharp teeth the size of long daggers and gills on the very back of her large head. She has no claws, since she has flippers for swimming through the sea, but instead attacks mainly with her bite attack and a tail sweep.

She is very protective of her territory and only retreats if she is greatly out matched. Coral speaks common, dwarven, elven and draconic.

Combat
Coralyntheix relies mostly on her bite attack to win encounters. She pops out of the water and attacks by bitting down on her victim. If she connects, she tries to swallow the person whole and leave right away. If she is unsuccesful with this, she uses her breath weapon to clear out an area and then pick of the survivors. All of Coral's attacks are treated as magic for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.

Coral will also try to capsize ships if they are small enough by bull rushing it. She then picks off the swimmers or the people in armor that sinks to the bottom.

Dragons are immune to sleep and paralysis effects. Dragons have darkvision with a range of 60 feet and low-light vision.

Water Breathing (Ex): Coral breathes water as if it were air. She can never drown. She also can breath air normally.

Breath Weapon (Su): A sea dragon has one type of breath weapon, a cone (50 ft.) of superheated steam. This breath weapon can also be used under water, where it boils the water in the same area of effect. The steam does 10d6 points of damage. Anyone with resistance to fire also resists the steam (or boiling water if underwater). A reflex save (DC 25) reduces this damage by half. This save is Constitution based.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, Coralyntheix must hit with her bite attack. If she gets a hold, she automatically deals bite damage and can attempt to swallow the opponent.

Swallow Whole (Ex): Coralyntheix can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of large size or smaller by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the opponet takes 2d8+6 points of crushing damage plus 1d8 points of acid damage per round from the creatures gut. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using claws or a small or tiny slahing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to the gut. Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. Coralyntheix's gut can hold 1 large, 2 medium, 4 small, eight tiny, 16 dimunitive, or 32 fine or smaller opponents.

Damage Reduction (Su): Due to her tough scales, Coralyntheix has DR 10/magic.

Immunity (cold) (Ex): Coralyntheix takes no damage from cold attacks, whether magical or mundane. She takes normal damage from fire based attacks.

Spell Resistance (Ex): SR 20.

Spell-like Abilities (Sp): 3/day-Obscuring mist, Fog cloud. 1/day-Control water. These abilites are cast as if Coral is a 10th level sorcerer. Save DC is 9 + level of the spell.

Society
Coralyntheix just prefers to hide in her cavernous home, minding her own business and counting her treasure. She only attacks if anyone comes within her territory. If this occurs, she attacks feriously until she is dead or she has killed everyone else.

This creature has not yet been play tested.
