Graplers are burrowing creatures that are especially good at, you guessed it, grappling. They make great guards as well.

Grapplers are about four feet tall with soil colored skin, short stubby tails and no eyes. Their hands are made of metal and are just as big as the rest of their bodies, which they use to dig tunnles. They normally live underground, feeding on the roots of plants, but will occassionally come above ground to get at other things if they wish. They are not usually aggressive, but will attack if provoked.,Grapplers are about four feet tall with soil colored skin, short stubby tails and no eyes. Combat
If you anger a Grappler enough to make it fight, it will probably try to beat you by swinging its massive fists at you. Given enough room to move, a Grappler could uproot a grown vallenwood tree with three hits. If your smart, you will not make them angry. If they can't swing their hands about, they will grab you and attempt to crush you in their grip. Don't think you can run from them either, if they decide to chase, they can actually run at speeds up to sixty miles an hour by throwing their hands forward and using the momentum to fly through the air.

If they are successful in grabbing you, they will begin to squeeze, causing 1d8 points of damage per round. Grapplers get a +7 bonus to all checks that involve grabbing things. They gain back 1 hit point every two rounds. Living underground, they can sense anything that moves along the ground. Not only that, but their sense of hearing is quite good as well.

Society
Grapplers generally live in groups of up to fifteen or twenty. They are very social and are not territorial and will allow other races and creatures to use their tunnles if they do not feel threatened. If you wish to communicate with them, they speak sylvan.
