Razor Feeders are ancient creatures that have the exact likeness of ornate dragon-shaped daggers. They feed through blood sucking.

When immobile a Razor Feeder appears to be nothing more than a worn, half-tarnished silver dagger. It's head forms the pommel of a serpent and the crosspiece ends in two birdlike talons. Under crosspiece a thing wing can be unfurled to allow for flight.

Its tail forms the blade of the dagger and appears to be solid silver with etchings of small scales along the length of it. The Razor Feeder feeds through its tail, which it uses to impale creatures. Blood sustains it's existence and without it the Razor Feeder can lie dormant for years or even centuries. Occasionally one will become trapped in a treasure trove, only to be discovered later by an unlucky adventurer. At the first taste of blood it is roused from its hibernation.

Some Razor Feeders will remain with their "owner" if they are put to good use and can feed regularly. Occasionally they will slip away into the night to feed returning later without the owner even being aware of it. If not satisfied with their situation a Razor Feeder may turn against their owner at the inopportune moments, like the heat of battle or when they are trying to be stealthy.

Combat
In battle a Razor Feeder will attempt to stab their opponent with their tail. If held they may scratch with their talons to get free of the grip.

Aberration: Aberrations have darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
Blood Drain (Ex): A Razor Feeder that makes a successful hit with it's tail will drain one point of temporary Constitution from its opponent. One point of Constitution can be regained for each full day of bed rest.
Fast Healing (Ex): A Razor Feeder regains 2 points of damage each round so long as it has 1 hit point left.
Scent (Ex): A Razor Feeder can track a victim by the scent of their blood.

Society
Razor Feeders are unique creatures and mate rarely. But when a mother Razor Feeder is ready to give birth she finds a host and releases her children into the victim's body. Then the children eat their way out of the host, killing them almost instantly. Once one of the children has found it's way out it flies in a random direction looking for a place to rest and hunt.
