A most bizzare creature, the Gau is large, dangerous and very quick to anger. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, STAND IN FRONT OF IT.

Its skin is a leathery in texture and a brownish red color. Its build is very bulky, with large arms, legs body and small head. Its head will be turned down when you first encounter it. This is because the front of its neck is its real mouth, which is large enough to engulf anything medium sized or smaller. The mouth on its head has an eye inside which creates a wall of force that pushes anything in front of it back within twenty feet. Its eye/mouth and its real mouth can't be opened at the same time. Its eyes are set so that they rotate to look forward when its eye\mouth is open. It also has four chains growing out of each arm. What does it eat? Anything it's in the mood to feed on. If it's not fighting, it's probbably just lumbering around in forested areas or wherever else it wants to go (hey, who's going to stop it?)

Combat
The Gau's first attack will probably be its chains, which it throws out at its opponents in an attempt to wrap them up and crush them. If that doesn't work, it will try attacking with its claws and teeth. Try to avoid getting in front of it, because if it feels you're getting an advantage, it will open its eye\mouth and try to push you away. If it renders a target immobile, it will attempt to sallow them.

Aberrations have darkvision with a range of 60 feet.

A gau can constrict its opponents by wrapping its chains around them. Try to avoid this, as the only way to get out of the hold is to break the chains. When its real mouth is open, it can engulf anything medium sized or smaller. It must make a successful grapple check first. The gau's Eye\mouth creates an invisible wall of force that pushes everything back within 20 feet. This does no initial damage, but damage from colliding with objects may occur. The Gau can travel into the shadow plane through any shadows.

Society
You won't find too many of them together, unless you find a colony (in which case it doesn't matter, you won't survive the experience). They prefer to work alone, or in small groups. They will gather together once every 24 years to mate. Stay away from this, they are especially agressive during mating season.
