A medium-sized creature, descended from bats. It curiously walks on its front legs, using the rear, clawed legs to attack. It is also completely blind, immune to light effects, but very sensitive to sonic effects.

Nightstalkers are primarily nocturnal creatures, sleeping high in trees in small family groups. They appear to be a monsterous descendant of a bat, without the wings, for they have no visible eyes and very large ears. They hunt using these sensitive ears and high-pitches as a very accurate sonar ability.

Using its front feet for running and climbing, these muscular limbs are specially padded to that the animal makes little to no sound when moving, both to reduce the effects on sonar, and as an obvious advantage in hunting. The back limbs reach forward and are used as its primary attack: claws. Nightstalkers will eat just about any living animal the pack can bring down. When not hunting, they can be found sleeping upside-down from tree limbs.

Combat
Nightstalkers attack in packs, using teamwork to bring down large foes. They are utterly silent in their attack, and will overwhealm a foe even before their presence is usually known. Because they are blind to light, they hunt at night, taking advantage of the darkness.

Nightstalkers effectively have low-light vision and darkvision with a range of 120 feet, though this is actually a sonar ability. They are immune to light effects, but especially prone to sound effects, taking double damage from such attacks.

Society
Nightstalkers are, as the name implies, hunters of the night. Though not truly social, they live in packs and use limited teamwork to hunt.
