The Avian Hin are a reclusive race native to the jungles of Toril. They spend their time planning hit-and-run raids against their hated enimies, the yaun-ti.

Standing two or three inches shorter than most hin, the Avians make up for their lack of height with sleek bat-like wings. They use their wings to make swift sneak attacks against yaun-ti scouting parties, and daring raids against yaun-ti settlements. When not hunting and destroying reptiles, avian hin spend their time enjoying the same passtimes as their land-bound cousins. Approximately 1% of all Avian Hin are born without wings, but with one reptillian mutation as a yaun-ti half-breed. It is unknown what causes these mutations, but malicious actions by the yaun-ti is suspected.

Combat
Avian Hin prefer to make sneak attacks from the air, but have been known to make very effective use of traps and snares on the ground.

Prefered class is rogue, and the Avian Hin make excellent use of their flight in combination with the rogue sneak attack ability. Spell casters are normally druids, but sorcerers and wizards are not unknown. Leaders are normally multiclass rogue/druids.

Society
The Avian Hin live in huge tree cities, led by a chieftan. These cities are connected by a bizarre series of rope ladders, wooden bridges, and pulley-driven elevators(for wingless visitors and frieght). The chieftan is generally advised by a council of the tribes most powerfull magic-users(both arcane and divine).

This creature has not yet been play tested.
This is not a kender type creature.
