Cursed Ring of Heavy Fingers
donated by Kerioff Thistlesilk

Description:
Well, according to my friend Harley's friend Pampla's Uncle Sprink (he's been *everywhere!) it looks like an ordinary ring. In fact, I hear rumors that it changes its appearace to fool unlucky kender! Last Uncle Sprink saw of it, it was plain gold with the inscription "Wear Me" on the inside of the band.

History: Pampla told Harley who told me that Uncle Sprink was wandering around in the Forest of Wayreth (how he got in there is another story entirely) and Harley says Pampla says Uncle Sprink volounteers for all sorts of nifty experiments all the time, and one of them was to test this magic ring! The guy in the black robes *said* it was a ring of protection, but I guess he didn't say who or what it was really protecting. Anyways, eventually, the ring became a family heirloom because Uncle Sprink couldn't get it off! I don't know where Sprink of the ring is now, because last I heard, he found a map in the Tower and dissapeared.

How it Works: If you play AD&D Dragonlance, this ring reduces the kender's pickpocketing (What!? A kender... pickpocketing!? Fizban forefend!) and other dexterity-required statistics by half, no matter what the level. If you're playing Fifth Age Dragonlance, the Lightfingers Trump Bonus is put back to normal. That means only dexterity cards count as trump. As the ring is cursed, it can only be removed by a) if you're playing AD&D, a cleric of Fizban and either a white or red robe mage must jointly cast Dispel Magic and Remove Curse. It has to be done willingly, too! or B) if you play Fifth Age, you have to get a good Mystic with a spirit of at least 6 and a code of A and the correct Mystic Sphere to successfully dispel the curse. Note: The dispelsion and removal of the curse only makes the ring come off! The curse still functions, and it only comes off once! Watch out for this ring!
