Deep beneath the world of sunlight roam magnificent and terrifying beasts. In this world below the light, a creature has evolved that is the ultimate predator in the world of darkness. Rarely leaving its home world, the Krylock hunts those who are unlucky enough to venture into its territory.

The Krylock are of near giant porportion, the males standing around 12 feet tall and the females standing 13. They both weigh around 600 pounds on their slim frames, thoough males appear more stocky. Their heads are similar in shape to those of wolves, hence the name. They are covered in coarse hair ranging from dark red to light gray. Their eyes are yellow as are their teeth. The Krylock are aggressive hunters with a taste for almost any flesh. They are omnivores, though they will only resort to eating vegetation when faced with starvation. They communicate via a system of grunts, snarls, and indetectable sents.

Combat
When hunting its prey, the Krylock choose a simple form of attack. It waits at turns in the caves or behind rocky outcroppings, then pounces upon its foes. It attempts to block exits with its body to ensure its prey has no way of escaping, and to make sure it has a way of escape. If faced with more than one opponent, it will single out the largest and systematically work its way down.

Darkvision 60' and gains a +4 when tracking by sent.

-1 to all attack rolls, saves, and skill checks in direct sunlight.

If both claws strike a single opponent in the same round, the Krylock may automatically make a rend. No attack roll is necessary, and it instantly scores a hit. The damage is then rolled normally.

Society
Once every year, the female will select a mate. In this mating process, the female selects a male on the premise of physical prowess in combat, venturing into a male's territory and fighting it. These mating rituals do occassionally prove fatal for the male. If the male proves acceptible, i.e. defeats her, she allows it to mate with her. One to three young are produced, which will mature within four to five years. The female and male care for the young during this period. Once the young mature, both the young and the male are forced out of the female's territory. Should one grow to be so large that its bulk is a hindrance in the labrynths of the underdark, or should a rogue youth venture out beyond the caves, one may enter onto the surface. In this environment, the creature will locate a suitable lair, usually an abandoned barn or a large cave, to protect itself from the rays of the sun. It will then hunt at night, usually feeding on cattle, though humans may make a tempting morsel.
