Small, fast, and annoying. These are the minions from the Shadow Plane that make great minor monsters in an Oriental Adventures campaign.

Shadow Lurkers are the trained servants of many stronger beings on the Shadow Plane. They appear as a small feral cat about 3-4 feet long as a shadow outline. The only non-black color is in the eyes which can vary: red, green, or yellow. Their movements are quick and they prefer to hide in shadow than be seen by those around them.

These creatures tend to feed on animals on the Material Plane, or will feed upon anything unfortunate enough to die on the Shadow Plane. The only times in which they leave the Shadow Plane is when their master has sent them on an errand.,Shadow Lurkers are the trained servants of many stronger beings on the Shadow Plane. Combat

Shadow Lurkers prefer to attack in groups. Very rarely will a single Lurker fight unless it intends to feed on its victim. A Lurker will tend to pounce on opponent and let others attack. Other times they will attack in mass much like small rabid hounds.

Magical beasts have darkvision with a range of 60 feet and low-light vision.

Pounce (Ex) While in combat, a Shadow Lurker can leap 60' at an opponent, making itself open to attacks of opportunity during the leap. At the end of the leap, it makes a grapple attempt against the opponent. If the grapple attempt is successful, the Shadow Lurker will pin the opponent and attract at least one other Shadow Lurker to attack the vunerable opponent.
Shadow Blend (Su) When standing in a shadow which fully covers a Shadow Lurker, it enjoys 9/10 concealment.
