Jackal-demons from the depths of my fathomless mind.

Maeklith are large, jackal-like demons, with long gleaming,black bone spikes protruding out of their foreheads, spine and forearms. They are bipedial and have muscular reverse jointed legs and long arms ending in four long claws. Their head and back are covered in a long mane of bristling hair, usually kept spiked up to appear larger. The rest of their body is covered in deceptively rough black fur. Their large eyes usually glow an odd blue, slightly changing colour as it's emotions change. Some Maeklith clothe themselves in flowing black and gold robes or armour, but most prefer going natural or wrapping bands of dark cloth around their arms, legs and chest. As most demons, they enjoy killing and mayhem, but not to the extent of most others. Young Maeklith are quadripeds, the long claws and muscles of the adults not yet developped. The young are extremely aggressive, often attacking and killing others with the slightest provocation. As they age, their killing instinct diminshes to the controlled fury of the adults. Maeklith usually carry scythes or bladed gauntlets (Steel gaunlets with large claws protruding from the wrist area.)

Combat
Maeklith start off fights by howling, creating a deafening wave of disorienting sonic energy that causes 2d6 of sonic damage. Thereafter, they charge at the party member with the lowest initiative and attack repeatedly.

Society
Maeklith are generally solitary and territorial demons, prefering to stay away from most other demons except to mate. Young are born in broods of around 4, but mostly end up as single children due to the extreme agressiveness of the youth. After several weeks with their mother, they go off alone.

This creature has not yet been play tested.
