Lizard like creature found in warm-hot areas. Strong, fast, and a demonic hunter. When A Gratto is found death is found nearby, for these creatures are forged from death itself.

The Gratto is a creature made originally by black robed mages of a demonic cult. They are a combination of tormented souls forged with animalistic demons. In short killing is their only desire. They were intended to be gaurdians of a temple for a demon god, but destroyed their masters before they could be contained.

They possess a dragon-fear like ability, brining a sense of doom and certain demise wherever they seem to go. This darkness pulses from their demonic parts. They are also primarily carnivorous creatures, meaning they hunt for their prey (which is any living creature they can find). When seen in the light they are a void-black colour with black eyes. They have amazingly tough rock-like skin, but when cut open they bleed acidic blood. Attached to them are 2 - 3 feet thick tails which they use to beat their victims (much like a crocidile). Their claws are razor shap and sting enemies infecting them with the venomous part of their blood. They are rarley found in common lands but are attaracted to dark magic or aura's. When not eating they are breeding, though not many exsist.

Combat
The Gratto hunts its territory knowing it intamitly, and has enough I.Q to know if something has been disturbed. When it attacks a victim is tends to get behind it, then strike with its claws to the base of the neck. But when forced to fight face to face it will use its tail to disable its enemies legs and jump for its neck. And in close quarters where itstail is usleless its attacks with a fury of claw swipes.

Magical beasts have darkvision with a range of 60 feet and low-light vision. Besides its poisin sting on its claws, the Gratto heals faster than average creatures (humans). It is very fast and agile, able to jump high climb deep, and run far in a short time.

Society
When faced with others of its kind all the Gratto seem to meld into a one mind aspect. The demonic magik's imbeded in them restrain them from hurting one another except for when choosing mates. The creatures rarely keep together and travel to wherever darkness is, but if mated and have offspring both male and female will stay to gaurd and raise the young, then they will leave. The only other times when gatherings have been noted are when the damned souls are called for (if the person is being ressurected) then the Gratto will be surrounded by its kind and they will hunt out whomever is raising its spirit.

This creature has not yet been play tested.
This is not a kender type creature.
