Combat
A shadow griffon can change to shadow 2/day (+1 or better weapon to hit, +12 Hide). It also has the innate magical abilities of sleep and true seeing, and cannot be surprised. The shadow griffion tries to avoid combat, changing into shadow form, hiding, or fleeing if possible, fighting with claws and beak if necessary. If it has to fight, it will try to remain unseen, attacking from behind.

Magical beasts have darkvision with a range of 60 feet and low-light vision. It has the ability to cast Sleep and Shadow walk as a 19th level mage. Hide is +12 in dark conditions. It also has true seeing abilities. The shadow griffon advances levels with his master.

Society
There are no other known examples of the shadow griffon. It will always be solitary, preferring the company of its master to that of any animal. It cannot reproduce.
