Fizban's Ring of Protection

Description: The ring is a wide band of seemingly solid gold with swirling patterns engraved on the outside. The gold is actually an odd squishy metal that can be quished up and then, when the squishing pressure is released, it returns to it's original shape. On one side of the ring there are 3 gems-a small hexagonal diamond, a larger circular sapphire in the middle, and a small square black onyx.

History: The ring was created by Fizban the Fabulous for Merenia Bottomhill on the Night of the Eye. He granted her wish for a magical ring as he had kindly granted her other friends their wishes, and then promptly turned on his heel and went looking for his hat. This occurred a few years before the War of the Lance, so Merenia and her companions did not yet know Fizban's true identity.

How it Works: When the wearer of the ring is in trouble & nothing can be done to save them from peril, one of the ring's 3 gems acts as a last resort to rectify the situation. The diamond freezes the enemy, the onyx blows them into the Shokian Grove (however far away it is), and the sapphire makes the enemy turn to the ways of good (so you never know, that draconian your firing at just MIGHT NOT be on the side of Takhisis). The wearer has no power over when the ring will work or what it will do, but it can be fully trusted to do it's job. When something happens that might send the wearer to it's death by falling, drowning, etc., the 3 gems and the magic encased in the gold combine to float the wearer and anyone touching them to safety.
