The Cursed Hoopak of Harkis
donated by Skip Furrfoot
Description: The "Cursed" Hoopak is four feet in heighth, and is a slender
hoopak made from a vallenwood tree. It appears to be perfectly
normal, even a finely crafted hoopak really, and it has a
strange sigil on the top of it. It looks like a sphere that's burnt
black and it also has a red colored slash through the center of
the sphere. It also has small gems embedded in the shaft of
the hoopak, gems the color of the rainbow twinkle in the sun's
light on it.
History: Created in the Shadow Years after the Cataclysm by an aging
Black Robed Mage, the Cursed Hoopak was simply for one
purpose, to use against Kender as possibly something that
could lead to the deaths of many of that cheerful race. Not
many know the true story of the Cursed Hoopak, but in truth it
was created by a dark elf Black Robed Mage from Silvanost by
the name of Drathis Vrue, or known as Harkis Arv Elenkul, "The
One of Many Banishments". The Cursed Hoopak has seen many
Kender in its existance and obviously has lead to the deaths of
more than a good handful of them.
How it Works: The Cursed Hoopak seems to draw Kender to it, almost as
though it were playing upon their racial curiousity. Once in the
hands of a Kender it will almost immediately begin to attempt
to lead the Kender to his/her death, usually by using a Kender's
curiousity to its own advantage. Say if a Kender enters a Lich's
Tomb with a party of adventurers, the Kender will almost
certainly have to make a Save vs. Spells to avoid running into
the fray. Currently the whereabouts of the Cursed Hoopak of
Harkis are unknown, but then again this threat to kender-kind
may just pop up at the wrong moment.... |
