Accursed Ring of Unconscious Thought Creation donated by Balin Lightfoot
Description: A copper ring with a small jewel that swirls around a lot and can
sometimes hypnotise you if you're not careful.
History: This is the most feared magical item in existance, espically
when worn by a kender. It was created long ago and thankfully
buried at the bottom of Blood Sea until Chaos recently calmed
the sea. This item seems to posses an intelligence of
somesort.and will move on from owner to owner seemily on its
own. No one knows who created this item as it was lost before
the first catclysm.
How it Works: This ring only works when the wearer unconsciously wants
something to happen. The effects are almost always
detrimental in some way. though never directly to the wearer.
The effects are completly random and can be in the form of
spells, creatures, items, etc. appearing, disappering. moving,
altering or anything. There is no way to stop this effect and it
can ignore any spells, powers or similar effects that would
normally prevent something from occuring. This ring reflects all
spells and effects that try to destroy it of affect it in any way
back on the caster. If the wearer purposefully thinks something
the ring will not work.

Cursed Ring of Eternal Boredom donated by Her Majesty Aurus the Golden Dragon Queen
Description: A small, gold ring that's fairly
average-looking, except for one
thing. It has one tiny, itsy-bitsy
sapphire set in the top that is very
difficult to see. The easiest way to
see it is to put it on one's finger
and look very closely...
History: There was a dragon who kept a
very large hoard in a cave deep
under a tall mountain range. This
dragon's pride and joy was her
collection of magic rings. Now, the
bane of this poor old gal's life was
kender. Don't ask me why - it
might have had something to do
with the fact that she always had
to chase them out of her horde.
Well, one day she chased a kender
out (his name was... oh, what was
it... something about traps...
trap... trap singer? no, that wasn't
it... trap-something...) and she
returned to count her magic rings
and found that one was missing!
She was so upset over this, she
decided to create a magical object
that would be the bane of the
existance of all kender. So, she sat
down and worked for months on
the Cursed Ring of Eternal
Boredom.
How it Works: For some reason, Kender can't
resist putting this ring on to look at
it. It's so intriguing to them! Well,
once they put it on, they can't pull
it off. Within a few minutes of
putting the ring on, they start
feeling... bored. Terribly, insanely
bored, so bored that they don't
know what to do with themselves.
It isn't long until the Kender is
completely and totally insane (along
with most innocent bystanders
anywhere near the poor kender).
The ring will easily come off into
some other Kender's pouch by this
time, and so it's passed on and on.
That old dragon had no idea what
awful deed she did for Krynn... oh
no. *shakes head* insane Kender...
*shudder*

Cursed Ring of Heavy Fingers donated by Kerioff Thistlesilk
Description: Well, according to my friend Harley's friend Pampla's Uncle Sprink (he's been *everywhere!) it looks like an ordinary ring. In fact, I hear rumors that it changes its appearace to fool unlucky kender! Last Uncle Sprink saw of it, it was plain gold with the inscription "Wear Me" on the inside of the band.
History: Pampla told Harley who told me that Uncle Sprink was wandering around in the Forest of Wayreth (how he got in there is another story entirely) and Harley says Pampla says Uncle Sprink volounteers for all sorts of nifty experiments all the time, and one of them was to test this magic ring! The guy in the black robes *said* it was a ring of protection, but I guess he didn't say who or what it was really protecting. Anyways, eventually, the ring became a family heirloom because Uncle Sprink couldn't get it off! I don't know where Sprink of the ring is now, because last I heard, he found a map in the Tower and dissapeared.
How it Works: If you play AD&D Dragonlance, this ring reduces the kender's pickpocketing (What!? A kender... pickpocketing!? Fizban forefend!) and other dexterity-required statistics by half, no matter what the level. If you're playing Fifth Age Dragonlance, the Lightfingers Trump Bonus is put back to normal. That means only dexterity cards count as trump. As the ring is cursed, it can only be removed by a) if you're playing AD&D, a cleric of Fizban and either a white or red robe mage must jointly cast Dispel Magic and Remove Curse. It has to be done willingly, too! or B) if you play Fifth Age, you have to get a good Mystic with a spirit of at least 6 and a code of A and the correct Mystic Sphere to successfully dispel the curse. Note: The dispelsion and removal of the curse only makes the ring come off! The curse still functions, and it only comes off once! Watch out for this ring!

Cursed Ring of Parties donated by Pickerpoket Ringerfinder Nimblefingers
Description: This ring looks like any normal ring.
It is a very plain silver band with no
writing on it.
History: It was made by a very happy mage who
always wanted to party. This mage also
hated kender. So when he was
enchanting the ring his god being
displeased with him cursed it.
How it Works: This ring when detected emenates a
signature of a ring of charisma +1.
But when put on creates 3d8 kender to
appear ready for a kender celebration.
Now for a kender this is great fun.
But for someone else well,,,

Dreamer's neat shapechanging ring donated by Dreamer Jingleheim
Description: Well, it's only a plain-old gold band, except it has a neat ?-mark made of a star sapphire set into the top of it.
History: I don't know where it came from. It must have fallen into my pocket. I'll bet it belonged to that Jacko guy. He never could be careful with his stuff. Like that neat bag I found of his.
How it Works: You see, when you stare into the star in the gem for a looooooooooooooooooong time (Human's note: 10 sec), you turn into something else!!! And it's different every time!!! I've been a goblin, a rabbit, a ukranian muskrat... The sad thing is, you always change back too fast (Human's note: 2d6 turns).
|
Elemental ring of lots of neat gems donated by Ajax
Description: Well, it's a ring, and it's got a ball on top the size of my fist, but it dosen't weigh anything, and it won't come off unless you want it to, and it has about a hundred little gems on it, that are equally spaced out.
History: I think it was made by some really powerful mage, because I found it when I visited this mage who was alone is his tower, and he was so happy to see me that he cried, and I was playing with it in his treasure-room, and he teleported me away with it!
How it Works: Weel, each of the little gems does a different thing, for instance there are two blue ones next to each other, and one makes a tornado, and the other one heals you, at least that's what it used to do, because the gems move around every once in a while, so I went to heal someone and got a red and a green. But one at the top never moves, and it makes wind you can (usually) control, and it's the only one I use often, but I know they are all elemental, and do all sorts of neat stuff. I think that one of them is a fireball(It's yellow) and there should be a Breath Underwater but I'm not sure, and I think that there's a. . . .

Fizban's Ring of Protection donated by Merenia Bottomhill
Description: The ring is a wide band of seemingly solid gold with swirling
patterns engraved on the outside. The gold is actually an odd
squishy metal that can be quished up and then, when the
squishing pressure is released, it returns to it's original shape.
On one side of the ring there are 3 gems-a small hexagonal
diamond, a larger circular sapphire in the middle, and a small
square black onyx.
History: The ring was created by Fizban the Fabulous for Merenia
Bottomhill on the Night of the Eye. He granted her wish for a
magical ring as he had kindly granted her other friends their
wishes, and then promptly turned on his heel and went looking
for his hat. This occurred a few years before the War of the
Lance, so Merenia and her companions did not yet know
Fizban's true identity.
How it Works: When the wearer of the ring is in trouble & nothing can be done
to save them from peril, one of the ring's 3 gems acts as a last
resort to rectify the situation. The diamond freezes the enemy,
the onyx blows them into the Shokian Grove (however far away
it is), and the sapphire makes the enemy turn to the ways of
good (so you never know, that draconian your firing at just
MIGHT NOT be on the side of Takhisis). The wearer has no
power over when the ring will work or what it will do, but it can be
fully trusted to do it's job. When something happens that might
send the wearer to it's death by falling, drowning, etc., the 3
gems and the magic encased in the gold combine to float the
wearer and anyone touching them to safety.

Kender Ring of Healing donated by Triplever Trapspringer
Description: The Kender Ring of Healing is a ring made out of platinum. Well, at least most of it is. The design on the ring is two white straight lines going up-to-down in a background of green.
History: Well, one day my Uncle Trapspringer was passing through a goblin camp (you can imagine the stench) when suddenly they accused his of stealing their gold. My uncle was wounded during the argument of the disappearing gold, when the god, Reorx, gave him the power to heal himself in the form of the Kender Ring of Healing.
How it Works: When used this ring heals any character of four wounds that he (or she) has recieved. This ring may be used three times.
|
Kender Ring of Protection from Boredom donated by Standback
Description: This ring is made of gold. It's exact appearence keeps
changing, and no-one is sure quite how it looks, because it
never looks the same way twice.
History: Once a mage was traveling with a kender. The mage was fond
of the kender, but he was sick of the kender always "borrowing"
his spell components. He thought to himself one day, "That
kender might really hurt himself with my powerful, magical
things. But I'd better put a stop to it anyway." So, the mage
created a ring which altered reality in such a way that the kender
wearing this ring would never go through the same experience
twice. He then made sure he had nothing valuable in his
pouches, and approched the kender with the ring. His pouches
were shortly empty, but the mage was happy. It worked, too:
the kender never stole anything worthless from the mage again.
This has been passed from kender to kender for years.
How it Works: As stated, the ring causes reality to change so that the same
thing will never happen to the kender twice. This can present a
problem or two, such as that the kender could never eat, say,
Otik's spiced potatoes at the Inn of the Last Home more then
once, but it does (kind of) prevent the kender from boredom,
and so is considered a blessing to those surrounding the
kender.

Kender Ring of the Inbred donated by Piers
Description:
History: Made by a rather artistic dwarf who was
passing by gully dwarf territory, when
he was ambushed by a band of viscious
gully dwarves (ooohhhh). In exchange
for his life, he gave them the ring,
which was then made spellworthy by the
only known gully dwarf mage! (who was
later killed in a feather-
fall/continual light /fireball spell
incident. dont ask for details)
How it Works: it allows the wearer (who must be a
kender) to communicate and get along
with gully dwarves. When in the
presence of gully dwarves, it raises
the gully dwarves reactions and general
attitude towards the character wearing
the ring as if the character had a
charisma of 20. (if already 20
then....21!!!) BUT ONLY AROUND GULLY
DWARVES! got that?

Kender smiley ring of happy light donated by Delbin Nimblefingers
Description: What does it look like? copper ring with smiley face on top
History: Who made it? How did you find it? "Found" at a pawn shop and magical qualities bestowed bestowed by local mage for a stiff price
How it Works: What does it do? How does it work? say "smiley" and light in the form of a smiley face shines out like a flashlight. Say "frowney" to turn it off. It mimicks your own facial expressions and talks when you talk. Colors can change from yellow, red, green, blue, puce, neon orange, and mustard green.
|
Lighttongues Ring of Absent Mindedness donated by Peregrin Lighttongue
Description: Well, it kinda looks like... uhm, no
wait that's not it, it's more like...
no not that either. I know! It looks
like... no that ain't right either. I
can't remember what it looks like.
History: It was made by... now I know someone
told me this... hmmmm. Oh well. I found
it on my Uncle Podo's foot. Or was it
Caramon's scabbard? Or at the fruit
stand at Palanthas? I know, no it
wasn't at the prison in Haven. Xath
Tsaroth maybe?
How it Works: I have no idea what it does. I seem to
keep forgetting where I put it.
Whatever it does, it sure doesn't like
being found. Where in Reorx's beard did
I put that thing?

Monkey Summoning Ring donated by Lethargic Lad
Description: The ring is a brass monkey that wraps around your finger and will not let go unless you scream as many obscene words as possible within the time it takes for you to be eaten by the monkeys you just summoned
History: I don't know.
How it Works: You speak the enchantment: "There's no place like home." three times and hold the ring on high (actually, you don't have to hold the ring up, it just makes the spell look a lot better when you do it). This summons 11 and a half blood thirsty monkeys (there was an accident with the meat grinder) that try to eat the person that summoned them.

My Semi-Precious donated by Burrhoff Tasslefoot
Description: At first glance, it looks like a diamond
in a steel setting, but upon closer
inspection(Which doesn't happen that
often), it is revealed as a piece of
glass in a hank of iron.
History: One day, a Gully Dwarf named Fagris was
watching a (Human)forge-master at work.
As the forge-master worked, a hunk of
half-molten iron flew away and landed in
front of Fagris. He stuck his finger in
to see if it felt nice.
"AAAAARRRRGGGGG!" There was now a
finger-sized hole in the iron. In an
incredible brainstorm(For a Gully
Dwarf), he used a nearby piece of glass
to try to scoop up the metal. as he was
trying, however, the metal finished
hardening. He took it to a nearby mage
to ask him if it was BIG MAGIC. The
mage said "Hmmm... Yes, yes, I see BIG
MAGIC in this ring.*snigger*" "It ring?
Me wonder. What it do?" "If I read
this scroll, it will turn you
invisible." The mage read the scroll,
and the ring glowed purple. Fagris took
the ring and wandered off. "Wait! You
forgot to pay meeeeee...."
How it Works: It turns you upper half invisible if
worn on your hand, and your lower half
invisible if worn on your toe.

Orangifier donated by Saera Starcatcher
Description: It is a plain silver ring with an
orange tint to it.
History: It is made from silver dipped in
magical orange dye. It was made by a
kender with nothing better to do than
make useless magic items (sound
familiar?)
How it Works: It turns the wearer vivid orange for
as long as it is worn. Freaky, huh?
|
Philsophers Ring donated by Orionthalas Tarrasqueslayer
Description: A plain gold band
History: No one knows it's origin. A man in
our campaign found it and made
the mistake of putting it on.
How it Works: When this ring is worn the wearer
responds to any situation or
question with some kind of
philosphical cliche' example:
Someone gains some XP's, the
wearer of the ring would say
something like: "Good judgement
derives from experience and
experience derives from bad
judgment." The wearer will be
heard quoting Nitzche, Confucious,
or any number of philosophers.
This ring does not affect actions,
the wearer will not stop in the
middle of a melee round to spout
off philosophy. When worn for too
long the ring has a worse side
effect: The wearer will begin to
speak like Yoda at all times. ex:
What do you want to eat? The
wearer will respond, "Looks good
what you are eating. Yes, eat
meat I will. Drink ale I will. But the
stew... eat it I will not." BEWARE
THIS ITEM! The wearer becomes
extremely annoying and will most
likely be throttled by companions.
|
Ring of Annoyance donated by Zelkus Fizban
Description: A regular gold ring, except it has a
silver leaf on the top of it.
History: This ring was made in Palanthalas, in
the year 200 AD. A mage was trying to
create a ring that would lend him much
power, a kender walked into his lab,
and began to question the mage on what
he was doing and if he could help, this
distracted the mage, then, because the
spell was interupted and the kender got
sucked into it.
How it Works: Who ever wears the ring will hear a
voice inside of there head, this is the
voice of the kender that got trapped
inside of it.
|
Ring of Bound Foundation donated by Andrew Tucker
Description: It is just a plain silver ring.
History: No one is sure where The Ring came
from, but legend has it that a
Paladin, wanting desperately to become
king, had this ring forged and given
to his Lord as a gift. When the Lord
put on the ring, he instantly turned
into a liquid substance and slipped
through the cracks in the foundation,
leaving behind only the ring where he
once stood.
How it Works: Once placed on the finger, The Ring of
Bound Foundatiion turns it wearer into
a liquid state, causing him or her to
drain or seep through the foundation
or into the ground. However, they are
not dead, only stuck in the liquid
state in hibernation. Tales speek of
The Scroll of Reinstallation which
reverses the affects of this ring.

Ring of desire donated by Arania
Description: A gold ring with precious stones
incruted al over it. Inside there are
ancient Elvish runes that
say "When
this ring is put on the wearer will
be granted their first thought
wanted out of desire."
History: It was crafted by ancient very high
level mage
that was very very greedy. some
say his greed was his own fate or
even a giant red dragon had a spy
in the mage's household and the
spy stole it from him at night. this
threory came about because a
curious kinder stole from a cave in
the mountains near a very wealthy
and powerful red dragon's lair.
How it Works: As soon as it is put on any thought
of desire that the wearer thinks of
is granted.
|
Ring of Expressed Thought donated by Stumbletoe Ropeknotter
Description: The Ring of Expressed Thought is a
simple silver band, with what
appears to be a mouth gag
engraved around it.
History: Long ago, a hapless wizard's
apprentice was forced into the
company of a kender. Tiring of the
constant chatter, he decided to
create a magical ring that would
prevent the kender from ever
speaking. (Un)Fortunately, he
miscast the spells, and while the
ring did stop the kender from
talking, it made his every thought
audible. It turned out that a
kender's thought processes are
even more annoying than his vocal
babbling, and the apprentice was
almost driven mad. When he took
the Test in the Tower of High
Sorcery, instead of dark elves and
evil wizards, he was presented with
a group of kender. His death was
actually quite interesting.
How it Works: The Ring of Expressed Thought
prevents the wearer from
speaking, but makes his every
thought clearly heard, as if he were
speaking in a normal voice.

Ring of Extreme Taunting donated by Maseltis Thikknot
Description: The Ring of Extreme Taunting is a
small,snow white,thin ring whith a
small red crystal in the top.

he put the ring on as quick as he
could, and it worked like the kender
mage wanted it too.It made the human
fighter so mad he tryed to attack the
kender in the city and the gaurde put
him in jail.Neat huh?"
How it Works: "If the storey dosnet explain it,the
Ring of Extreme Taunting,as soon as you

unthinkable,highly insulting taunt,here
let me show you.."
*takes ring out and slips it on*
"Hey you,ugly,goblin eating bugbear!

you real face?"
*slips ring off*
"Isnt that neat,hey,put me down,that

|
ring of facial hair donated by Pocketz
Description: It looks like a ordinary ring.
History: (Now keep in mind I am not a kender, however I wish I was they
seem
to have so much fun. besides they have an excuse for
stealing.) I was
walking through a tavern when I saw a gambling table. No harm
in
practicing my luck. So I snuck up to the table, borrowed a few
gold
coins from a
verry generous bartender (well actually his pouch) and went to
the
table. So I put down my coins, picked up the dice, dropped the
dice
down my
sleeve reached behind me, slipped my hand in my bottomless
pocket, pulled out some loaded dice. Threw them and got
snake eyes (naturally)
I trippled my
money. After about a hour of this I took my winnings, just when
i was
about to leave 3 kender came in slamming the door into my
nose.
(I was not to pleased about this) so i decided i would play a
trick on
them. So I pulled out my wish ring and wished that as long as
they wore
there rings, doors would forever slam in there noses. I decided
to stay
and see what mischief that would cause. Of course after a
while I took a turn of heart and pulled out my ring and wished,
as long
as they have those rings on they would not get there noses
slammed in
doors. but after a whilei took another turn of heart, I had
decided I should
have some revenge. So I wished whoever had there rings on
would grow facial hair thick like a dwarves beard, and dark like a
hobbits foot. Then the bartender started hollering about how he
was robbed or
something. (this was my cue to leave) So I left the tavern. I
don't know what
ever happened to them after that but I imagine there all right.
How it Works: This ring will make whomever wears it grow facial hair.
|
Ring of green fingers donated by Sabine Almondhair
Description: It's a silver ring with 11 stones
imbedded in it that change color.
History: Well, I was just looking around in a
jewelry store and saw it. It was so
pretty! Anyway...I decided that it was
probably not my size and left the
store. Later on, it just appeared in
one of my pouches. It must've fallen
off of the display and into my pouch.
How it Works: It does two things. The stones in it
change color and after wearing it a for
a short time, my finger turned green!
It was quite interesting! Gee...I
wonder if that's where the term "green
thumb" came from...By the way, is this
yours?
|
Ring of Kender Protection donated by Aruamos Sightseer
Description: A Ring of Kender Protection is a
small gold ring that appears as a
arm in a circular shape ending in a
open palmed hand as the only
decoration.
History: Drack the Red hired Shelli
Toungewagger, a persistant
kender who proved to be an
excellent herb gatherer. Drack had
a problem with Shelli always picking
the herbs right back out of his
pockets. To protect himself from
her, he created the ring of Kender
Protection.
How it Works: When a kender comes near the
wearer of the ring, the ring is
activated and takes partial control
of the wearer. Without the
wearer's thought or involvment,
the kender's attempts at exploring
the wearer's pockets are twarted.
This is accomplished by the wearer
slapping away the hand of the
kender. The wearer does not
even realize it is happening unless
they happen to see it happening.
The ring is limited in that it is only
effective if at least one hand of the
wearer is free.
|
Ring of Kender Reversal donated by Tobigera
Description: It's a small ring made out of gold with
a small ruby imbedded in it.
History: It was made by the Sorcerer Xelios
Aramak as, you guessed it, another
practical joke on the kender of our
party. One of these days we're really
going to hurt him.
How it Works: When a kender puts this ring on, it
will reverse that kender's curious
tendencies. Instead of absentmindedly
borrowing things, he will
absentmindedly loan things. I've had
to return his hoopak twelve times now.
|
Ring of Kender Thought donated by Odin
Description: It appears to be a ring made of fine mitheral with a large
multi-facited diamond placed in the center.
History: It was made by a wizard who idealized the Kender, (funny
huh?). He died while creating the ring, for it was his finest
acheivement.
How it Works: When worn by a kender, it allows them to the the future, (if it
involves them creating havok). And when any other race puts
the ring on they start acting, in all respects, like a kender. This
allows them to "borrow" items from complete strangers, cause
chaos wherever they go, and enjoy the thrills of no fear.
|
Ring of Partial Invisibility donated by speedy
Description: A Nondescript steel ring with an
inscription inside the band that
reads ... hide me.
History: Eight of these rings were
accidently
created when an apprentice wizard
misread the ingredients in his
masters spellbook. To hide his
mistake, he sold them to a rogue
merchant. The rings were sold and
resold and scattered abroad.
How it Works: This ring randomly causes one part
of the
wearers body ( arm, leg. head.
etc, ) to become invisible at
random times. No command
phrase needed. Simply wear the
ring.
|
Ring of Parties donated by Pockets
Description: A completely round gold ring.
History: So far I have only told you about my silliar adventures. And this
adventure will be no exception to my other ones. I was
adventuring with
my friend comus and doli, we had been walking in happy woods
(please
don't ask how we got there) (It was named by some trolls, how
redundant
it's not as happy as you would think) It was all foggy and dark
near
like pitch, but we all had sharp eyes. Well I should say Comus
and I
had sharp eyes, Doli Had the eyes sight of a cyclops with a bag
over
his head. Don't get me wrong Dolie wasn't blind he just wasn't
verry
sharp.(Well I spose I'm exagerating a tad, Once Doli couldn't
find his
hammer the duffus had it attached to his belt) So me and
Comus were
watching for danger while Doli Fumbled for his hammer. We
thought he
finally found it when He set off another trap, I could have just
died
We had a bet He wouldn't set off another trap for a week (It
had been
about 12 hours). Now Doli couldn't sett off a couple of arrows or
a
fireball trap. Nooooo Doli had to set off a alarm so before you
could
say "hello old bean". We had about 20 elves per man pointing
arrows
at us, The elves hardly said a word just follow us. We did so,
(well
what had you done if 20 elven rangers were pointing arrows at
you)
We were sitting in our new home, (the jail cell) When I layed
down to
sleep (that is till security dozed off) when I layed on some hard
cold
metal. It was a ring I slipped it on, Suddenly I started grinning
like
an idiot, I heard soft quiet music at first then fast and louded.
My
feet and my hands started moving to the beat, then I got up
and started
dancing to the beat (talk about being inconspicuous). Suddenly
It
appeared as if every one was singing merrily, so I burst into
song
without thinking. Imediatly I was no longer in the cell I was in
the
middle of a great feast, rudely I brought back to reality comus
had
tackled me and doli was gumming up my fingers trying to pull
off the
ring. I was mad I was back and the security was shifting, our
chance
to escape. Of course the locks were child play. We escpaed with
great
ease, more magic and another fine tale.
How it Works: It replicates a party that only you can see and feel.

Ring of Spiffy Stuff Finding with pouch donated by Nemblin Briarback
Description: This magical ring has a "habit" of finding other people's
belongings that they didn't know they had lost. It looks like a
normal gold ring, but has a spell of kender attracting on it so
that no kender can resist owning it.
History: "I don't know, I just found it somewhere!" said Nemblin. "Is it
yours? You must have dropped it. I was just keeping it safe for
you. You set it down and I thought that you didn't want it
anymore."
How it Works: When on the finger of a kender, the ring will act like a magnet
and attract spiffy stuff from other people and put these things
into the matching pouch of spiffy stuff holding.

Ring of Teleportation donated by Kala & Tavin
Description: It is a gold ring with a blue gem in
the middle. It has runes inscribed all
over it. It fits anyones finger.
History: The mage Tarohl made it for the kender
twins Kala and her brother Tavin. It
allows them to get to him no matter
where in time and space he may be. It
also lets him keep an eye on them
throgh it's gem, but don't tell them.
How it Works: It allows the twins to teleport
anywhere in time and space. But they
can't use it to get into places they're
not supposed to be. They have magic
lock picks for that.

Ring of Time and Again donated by Geeta Applecorr
Description:
History: Some realy nice red robed mage gave it
to me. You know, that time when I
managed to sneek into the tower of high
sorcery in that forest...
anyway, so the mage found me and and
made me go home, but first this cool
ring fell outta his pocket, and when I
tried to tell him that, he told me to
shut my mouth, so I guess thats almost
like he gave it to me...right?
How it Works: It's realy cool. When I put it on I
basicly get to re-live the last five
minutes. I can't change anything... but
it's great for when you've done
something realy fun and wanna do the
exact same thing again.

Ring of True Hearing donated by Kiven Thornfinder
Description: This ring, made of intertwined silver braids, has a small steel
carving of a bird on the top face.
History: Called the Ring of Clarion Song by Branchala's followers, this
ring is made of intertwined silver braids and has a small steel
carving of a bird on the top face. Created by a kender cleric of
Branchala who had gone deaf during the Third Dragon War, the
ring has a sparkling sheen, which will never dull. Said cleric,
whose name is lost to history, prayed to his god to once more
be able to hear the music of the songbirds. Branchala, pitying
his sad priest and wanting to help, enchanted the ring to
remedy the wearer's deafness. However, he also made it
improve hearing so that it would be useful for the cleric's
descendants as well. The ring's use, however, only applies to
those kender of the cleric's lineage. All others feel their hearing
heightened a little, but it's hardly enough to help them much.
Non-kender cannot use this item.
How it Works: In AD&D terms, the wearer of the ring can only be surprised on
a result of 1 with the surprise roll. Even then, he will not lose
any dexterity bonus to AC. In addition, the kender always gains
a +30% bonus to a detect noise action, and the detect noise
action can be increased to 100% by the ring. It also can restore
hearing to the deaf person as long as they are wearing the ring.
In SAGA terms, the ring of hearing can increase a normal sense
of hearing to a heightened one. If the kender has a heightened
sense of hearing, any perception action involving hearing is
trump. Also, any action to avoid surprise is trump for the wearer
of the ring. If a kender has somehow gone deaf or has a
diminished sense of hearing (unlikely with SAGA rules, but
possible) his hearing functions as a normal sense.

Ring of Water donated by Volfied Raven
Description: This ring is marvelos looking, which
turns into a water ring and
surrounds itself around the
wearer's finger. It feels itchy when
it turns into goo-like water.
History: This ring is told to be one of Irda
artifacts, where legendary,
therefore unknown, Uncle
Trapspringer 'borrowed' from one
of the Irda scouts on Ansalon, one
day. It is made by water, where it
is told that water-elves gave this
ring to Irda's during the beginning
of creation as a gift. Currently, it is
in Volfied's endless pouches,
probably forgotten by Volfied, but
not by the Irda scout.
How it Works: This ring's bearer gets to be seen
like water when inside water,
therefore not seen. ALso, it helps
the bearer to swim many distanes
like a sea-elf, without having to
breath fresh air. It also turns any
kind of water included liquid into
sea water.

The Almighty Ring Of Oops donated by Traddit Youmusthavedroppedit
Description: The Almighty Ring Of Oops is quite
gaudy and tastless. It's made of
imitation gold, and is about a sixth
of an inch thick. The object is
studded with many small, red glass
gems, with a larg walnut sized fake
emerald dominating it.
History: The Almighty Ring Of Oops was
created by a rather insane little
man. The man, a hater of kender
(really, who isn't?), was quite rich,
and hired a mage to create the
ring for him. After it was created,
however, he really had no idea just
/why/ he'd had it made, so he ran
away without paying the mage. In
the end, the problem was solved
with a well-placed Fireball, and the
magic user just tossed the
enchanted piece of jewelry away.
How it Works: Upon being touched by a kender,
the ring has a 60% chance of
slipping onto the creature's hand.
At that point, there is another
30% chance that there will be a
burst of light, dealing the wearer
1d6 damage and blinding him for
1d4 rounds. If this doesn't happen,
however, a bright red beam of light
shoots directly forward from the
ring. The beam does 1d4 damage
to anything it hits. This beam,
however, has quite a bit of kick.
The kender will be fired backwards
2d20 feet x 10. The wearer trave;s
flying backwards at a rate of 100
fett per second, with anything up
to 20 feet thick he hits being
destroyed instantly. If the traveller
rams into something thicker than
20 feet, he will halt abruptly,
unhurt. Otherwise, he travels the
full distance, knocking any creature
getting in the way to the ground
and come to a stop unscathed.
Note: Avoid aiming ring at ground
unless you have wings.

The One Ring donated by Krypton Oathbreaker
Description: It's this ring. It's gold and shiny.
Very shiny. *smiles*
History: Well, see, It's this ring....That's all
it is. I um, I sort of found it...well,
not really found it...maybe it fell
into my pouch? ..I was near this
really hot mountain and there was
some sort of battle. Thinking it was
Mount Nevermind, I went closer to
have a look. There were these
little fellows that looked a lot like
Kender an I went closer to have a
chat. A really big orc screamed at
me and I screamed back and I
spoke to this Frodo character and
he gave me his ring! ...Er, he didn't
really give it-- He dropped it and I
sort of picked it up and hoped to
see him again to give him the ring
back. Anyway, I carried on with my
quest and I ended up in Xak
Tsaroth (which is quite
remarkable 'cause last I heard, Xak
Tsaroth was ruined). Then, these
gully dwarves were very nice and
before leaving, I decided to leave
them that ring. ...Either that or I
must have misplaced it somewhere
along my adventure. It's definately
not in my pouch anymore.
How it Works: It turns you invisible! How amazing!
And when you put it into the fire,
weird squigly doodles come out,
isn't that something?
|
The One Ring donated by Krypton Oathbreaker
Description: A golden Shiny ring. *beams
proudly*
History: It was given to me by a far away
cousin named Frodo Baggins. Ever
heard of him? ...Never? Well, it
matters little. We met in the Inn of
the Prancing Pony and he was king
enough to give me this. I'm not
sure what's it's made out of,
though. *scratch head*
How it Works: I dunno. Maybe if I wear
it...*vanish*

The Really Nifty Hot-Potatoe Ring donated by Endor Fen
Description: A gold band with strange etchings.
History: Once, while deep in the throws of Wanderlust, I was journying with a party of adventurers, including one particularly wise and kind mage named Ian. Ian was an unusually patient man, but he must have been having a bad night that evening around the campfire, because he didn't enjoy hearing my wonderous tales of adventure and intrigue I usually regaled the party with each evening. As a consolation gift, however, he gave me the most magnificent ring -- the Really Nifty Hot-Potatoe Ring, as I call it. He was even kind enough to show me how it worked. Place the ring on your left hand. Watch it carefully, and snap your fingers with your right hand. Poof! Now it's on your right hand!!! Now snap your left fingers, and Poof! There it is, appearing back on your left hand!
How it Works: This was great fun! It never failed to carry me through when traveling through deep forests and dark dungeons got a bit boring. But that was how I found out another neat (if obnoxious) trick the ring could do! We'd been wandering through this particularly boring section of dungeon. We'd been fighting our way through for some time when the party decided to try to sneak past several guard-posts strung along a wide-open cavern. It was a long and boring process (after all, sneaking is only fun for a little while!) so I decided to play with my ring. Airen (the token-Elf of the party) must have been bothered by all the loud finger-snapping, and tried to take the ring away! How rude! I wasn't gonna let it go, though, but Ian had other ideas. He simply snaped his own fingers, and the ring jumped right onto his hand! So, it works when ANYONE snaps their fingers, I figured! But not one to pass up a good game, the finger-snapping soon broke out amongst the entire party! Unfortunately, the Kobolds who manned the near-by towers suddenly noticed us and were not so amused...

The Ring of "Forget-me-own-name-next" donated by Corynna Skylark
Description: It is a somewhat nondescript ring. There's something
interesting about its appearance...but...you just can't remember
what it is...
History: This ring was designed by the white mage Alacar in an attempt
to lose his acquaintance with his group's resident kender. He
had the ring crafted by an elven silversmith. At the moment of
completion, Alacar cast a permanent variation of the "Forget"
spell into it and left it lying conspicuously in his bright pink
pouch.
How it Works: When placed on a finger, this ring renders a kender's memory
of people completely blank. He can only remember the names
of other kender. At some point in trying to remember a
name, the kender will say "Forget me own name next". He
does NOT forget stories about people, but he has to make up
the names or the story goes something like: So, I was with this
big barbarian-guy. His name was...uh...wow. I am so
embarrassed! I'm usually so good with names! Forget me own
name next! He's a good friend of mine...long hair? Kinda
mean-looking? You know...he's a barbarian...Tall? He carries a
giant club? You know! That guy...etc.
If worn by someone other than a kender, his or her mind is
filled with the names of kender. Usually, this causes the person
to scream in terror and pull the ring off, flinging it as far from
his person as possible.
As a footnote: the attempt by Alacar to rid himself, however
gently, of his resident kender was unsuccessful as the kender
re-introduced himself to their group later that day when he met
them running as quickly as they could from the elven village
where Alacar made sure the kender would "find" the ring.

The Ring of a Rather Annoyed Goblin donated by Peregrin Lighttongue
Description: It's a rather dented, beat up old ring,
with a shiny green jewel jutting out of
it. The gold is smudged, and some of it
is flaking off. Obviously its fake
gold, but I don't think the goblin noticed.
History: It was probably made the same way other
rings are made, only this one was worse.
Somebody got kicked out of the jewelers
and ringmakers guild for this one.
Anywhose, I found it in a ditch near a
goblin camp. I held it up to look at
it, when apparently the head goblin saw
it in my hand, screamed "Let go o' dat
ya little blighter!" and started
chasing me. I held out the ring for
some reason, and it made a flash and the
goblin was knocked out. I ran for it,
because obviously this ring had some
power, and goblins should not be using
that power, they would only use it for
terrible things after all.
How it Works: It's obviously magic. When held up, it
sends a blinding light that knocks out
all but the bearer of this ring. I
think I'll keep it here, just to be safe.
(It has a 1 in 6 chance of actually
working. If a 6 is rolled on a d6, then
anyone around the bearer must make a
fortitude save DC18 or be knocked out
for 1d6 turns)

The Ring of Fame and Fortune donated by Kitty Robins
Description: It is a ring that looks like it was
made by a gully dwarf (oohh! thrills
and chills!) with two (no more than
two) gems on it, one green and one
red. Only usable by kender.
History: No information
How it Works: When worn in a town, stand up and
say, "E=mc squared!", and you will
instantly have eternal fame (in that
town anyway,) and as for fortune, your
natural kender spirit will take care of
that.
|
The Ring of James Earl Jones donated by Muerte The Great
Description: Looks like a plane old golden ring.
History: Forged by a rather small mage in hopes
of changing his effect others.
How it Works: Once the Ring of James Earl Jones is
slipped on your finger, your voice
becomes dramatically low and powerfull,
and gives the ability to intimidate
your enemies. However, after the change
in voice, your nose begins to swell,
and your hair falls out at an alarming
rate.
|
The Ring of Many Rings donated by Kreis Wirespring
Description: A regular peice of fingerware with a
small metal ball on it that shines
every color(even Mac & Cheese!).
History: A well known rumor has it that this
ring was forged by a Wizard in the
corner of the world. Originally it was
meant to destroy all Evil, but he
forgot that he had another magic ring
on when he tried it. The new ring was
stolen a day later, meaning there was
still evil.
How it Works: When worn this ring enables you to wear
more than one magical ring, but with
some regulations. The rings may not
contradict each other, and there can
not be two or more of the same ring
worn.
|
Turkey's Ring donated by Palov Livaloff
Description: Precious golden ring, with a turkey shaped ruby.
History: Probably an ancient silver dragon, who gave it to me as a prize for my fearlessness and great courage.
How it Works: It is able to transform the owner and all of his possesions into a noisy and messy turkey! It's very useful to distract the attention of soldiers, guardians and Dragonlords from yourself. But it doesn't work if the owner doesn't act as a real turkey:GLU-GLU-GLU-GLU!!!!!
